On the morning of April 25th , the Cadre delegation of Croatia’s Ruling Coalition guided by Ms. Gordana Sobol, the member of Croatian Parliament and the Centre Committee of the Social Democratic Party, along with another 8 delegates visited Zhejiang University of Technology (ZJUT). President Zhang Libin met with the visiting guests on the Pingfeng campus. Attended the meeting were also the directors of the School Office and the International Office.
After an introduction of the basic conditions and academic characteristics of our school, President Zhang highly appreciated the richness of Croatian culture and fully affirmed the long friendly exchanges between China and Croatia. Furthermore, President Zhang expressed his anticipation to have broad and profound communication as well as cooperation with Croatia colleges and universities. As per the President, ZJUT provides the National Government Scholarship and the Provincial Government Scholarship of Zhejiang Province as well as the Confucius Institute Scholarship for foreign students studying in China at present. We sincerely welcome more Croatian young people to study in our university and look forward to our teachers and students conducting research and for further study in Croatia. In addition, the President has also proposed cooperation between the two sides to help further future enterprise. Ms. Gordana Sobol said she was pleased to have the opportunity to visit our school , and to express gratitude President Zhang Libin.. She fully affirmed the collaborative achievements between the relative Croatia states and Zhejiang province in fields as economy and culture, and said she would like to see more cooperation in education. Ms. Gordana Sobol mentioned that as one of the members of the European Union, Croatia attaches great importance on international exchanges of students and she encouraged students of each country to participate in the ongoing student exchange project between China and the central and east European countries in order to enhance mutual understandings. Ms. Gordana Sobol has also said that she would love to help to fulfill the collaborations of ZJUT and Croatia University.
In the conference, our school delegates have also exchanged opinions with the visiting guests on the issues of China’s higher education and economic development.
The members of the Cadre delegation of Croatia’s Ruling Coalition consisted of national and local governors of Croatia, including members of national and state parliaments, mayors, heads of districts as well as minister counselors of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
