On the evening of October 11th, the launching ceremony was held at Pingfeng campus for the student research project, in cooperation with Valparaiso University and Zhejiang University of Technology. Fifteen overseas students from Valparaiso University and seventeen undergraduates from the Jianxing College of Zhejiang University of Technology formed eight teams. They will carry out a three-month research project named “the current situation of the implementation of waste sorting and recycling on campus.”
With the aim of environmental protection, students made investigation into ways of sorting and recycling waste some Chinese universities adopted, combined them with corresponding practices in America, probed into specific measures for improvement and put forward corresponding suggestions on policies. This project created an environment where both American and Chinese students could carry out cooperative research with their knowledge, thus enhancing their ability to conduct practical cross-cultural research.
